Introduction:
When the blood glucose level is high, insulin hormone is secreted by the beta cells of pancreas islets. It increases the glucose absorption by the cells of liver that start storing glucose from blood as glycogen. Muscles also store glycogen and use it to synthesize protein and adipose tissues starts synthesizing fats from the blood glucose. These processes lower the blood glucose level as the blood glucose gets used up.
