Summary Introduction
To Determine:
If the given statement is true or false.
Introduction:
For the survival of the species, sexual reproduction is very important as it produces genetically variable offspring. During sexual reproduction, male and female gametes fuse to form a zygote which develops to a progeny. Thus, in sexual reproduction, gametes from the sexually dimorphic parents fuse to form a zygote. So, to keep the chromosome number constant in the species, the chromosome number is reduced to half (haploid) in the gametes.
