Chapter 4, Problem 4MC
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Ribosomes are small particle composed of ribosomal RNA combined with proteins and found in large number in the cytoplasm of a living cell. A ribosome has two subunits: the small ribosomal subunit and the large ribosomal subunit. Ribosomes are present in both prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells. Prokaryotes have 70S ribosomes, which containing small (30S) and large (50S) subunits. Whereas, eukaryotes have 80S ribosomes, which containing small (40S) and large (60S) subunits.
