Chapter 38.2, Problem 4R
Summary Introduction
To review:
The mechanism, by which plants under attack by herbivores “call for help” using jasmonate.
Introduction:
A plant being eaten by herbivores or a plant that has been wounded activates a number of signal transduction pathways to bring about defense and repair. These pathways include membrane signaling, reactive oxygen signaling, and hormone signaling. Jasmonic acid is the most important hormone involved in the defense against herbivory.
