The unions and intersections of sets are to be compared.

Explanation of Solution

Union of sets: union of sets is the set which contains all the elements of sets. The union of two sets is calculated by listing the elements that are in the either set or in both sets.

An element is said to be union if it belong to at least one of the sets.

The union set is represents by $\cup$ .

Example:

Consider a set

  $A=\left\{1,2,3\right\}$

Another set

  $B=\left\{4,5\right\}$

The union of $A\text{or}B$ becomes,

  $\begin{array}{l}U=A\cup B\\ =\left\{1,2,3,4,5\right\}\end{array}$

Intersection of sets:

Intersection of two or more than two sets is the set of common elements which are common to every set.

An element is the intersections if it belongs to the all of the sets. The intersection of sets is written by writing the elements which are common to all sets.

The symbol of interactions is $\cap$ .

Example:

  $A=\left\{1,2,3\right\}$

  $B=\left\{2,3,6\right\}$

  $A\cap B=\left\{2,3,\right\}$
