Concept introduction: Stroke is a medical condition in which poor blood flow to the brain leads to cell death. Early action can minimize brain damage and potential complications. It can happen to anyone at any time. It occurs when blood flow to an area of brain is interrupted. When brain cells die in a stroke, functions that are controlled by that area of the brain such as memory and muscle control are lost.
