All the plant cells have a rigid structure present just outside the plasma membrane. This rigid structure is called the cell wall. Other than plants, the cell wall is also present in fungi and bacteria. Peptidoglycan called murine forms the bacterial cell wall while the cell wall in plants is formed of cellulose and in fungi, it is made up of chitin.
