Summary Introduction

To draw: The sketch that shows the relationship of the remnant of primary xylem, vascular cambium, secondary phloem, secondary xylem, and periderm cross section of primary root.

Introduction: Roots and stems of plants are produced with secondary growth. Gymnosperms and woody eudicots have primary growth at the apical meristem, and at lateral meristem, the secondary growth occurs. The secondary tissue is produced as a result of the activity of two lateral meristems, namely the cork cambium and vascular cambium.
