Proof of $\frac{d}{dx}(\cos x)=-\sin x$ Use the definition of the derivative and the trigonometric identity

$\cos (x+h)=\cos x\cos h-\sin x\sin h$

to prove that $\frac{d}{dx}(\cos x)=-\sin x$.
