Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Non-invasive methods of recording brain functions, which are recordings from outside the skull, are frequently used, than invasive processes like optogenetics. An electroencephalograph (EEG) records electrical activity of the brain through electrodes attached to the scalp. These electrodes measure the average activity at any moment for the population of cells under the electrode. A magnetoencephalograph (MEG) is similar, but instead of measuring the electrical activity, it measures the faint magnetic fields generated by the brain activity.
