Concept explainers
To explain: The reason for no motion of a person.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
According to
When a force is applied by a person on the door to open, then according to the Newton’s third law of motion, the door will apply a reaction on a person but there won’t be any resulting movement. This is because the friction force on a person will cancel out the reaction force applied by the door. Thus, net force exerted on a person will remains zero.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the person will not move due to frictional force.
