Summary Introduction

To review:

The key function of the centriole is to assist with cell division in animal cells. As well as, the centrioles help in the formation of the spindle fibers which involved in the separation of the chromosomes during mitosis cell division.

Introduction:

When centrioles extend in all possible directions as long protein fibers known as microtubules, forming is called a spindle. A few of the microtubules attach the poles to the chromosomes by kinetochores connecting to protein complexes. Microtubule-organizing center (MTOC) is a structure found in eukaryotic cells and help in the organization of eukaryotic flagella and cilia and the organization of the mitotic and meiotic spindle apparatus, which separate the chromosomes during cell divisions.
