Introduction:
A mutation refers to permanent alteration in a deoxyribonucleotide (DNA) sequence. Mutations differ in the range from a single base pair to a long segment of DNA sequence. Insertion or deletion of nucleotides disrupts the reading frame and eventually changes the sequence of the encoded protein.
