Summary Introduction
To determine: The procedure that an individual should choose to count bacteria in a sample that is known to include many species that have not yet been cultured.
Introduction: The bacterial cells are small and difficult to be seen by the unaided eye. The one way by which bacteria are counted is by growing them on a nutrient medium, where the bacteria undergo binary fission to form the visible mass of cells called colonies. These bacterial colonies reflect the number of living bacteria present in the original sample.
