Introduction:

The uterus is located within the pelvis and is supported by various ligaments, such as the lateral cervical ligaments, the uterosacral ligaments, the round ligaments, and the broad ligaments. It is the pathway for the transport of sperms into the fallopian tube and also acts as a site for the implantation of a fertilized ovum. It provides protection and nutrition to the developing embryo.
