Fuel in gas tank =

Distance to cover = 85 miles
So, fuel required to cover the distance =
And fuel in the car is 3.375 gallons , which is less than the required fuel of 3.4 gallons to make it to the destination.
So, the brother is not right . You will not make it to the destination in 3.375 gallons of fuel.
