A.
To determine The contribution of radiocontrast agents on the development of acute kidney injury.
Introduction: Acute kidney injury is also known as acute renal failure, which is a condition in which the kidneys are unable to maintain its functions such as fluid and electrolyte balance, excretion of nitrogenous wastes, and many more.
A.
Explanation of Solution
Acute renal failure is often seen in elderly persons, which have already been diagnosed with other life-threatening diseases such as sepsis, trauma, coronary heart disease, and many more. There is various type of Acute kidney injury such as pre-renal, intrarenal, and postrenal. The radiocontrast agents are used during cardiac catheterization. These agents cause acute pre-renal failureby decreasing the blood flow. The radiocontrast media-induced nephrotoxicity has the highest risk of renal failure in the elderly and those with pre-existing disorders such as diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease due to exposure to nephrotoxic agents.
B.
To explain The presence of pulmonary congestion, elevated serum creatinine, proteinuria.
Introduction: The proteinuria is a condition in which a significant amount of protein is present in the urine. The abnormality is due to some kind of disease. There are various types of proteins present in the plasma of blood.
B.
Explanation of Solution
High blood pressure and diabetes mellitus can lead to proteinuria, followed by renal failure. There is a leak of protein into the urine. Due to the glomerular capillary filtration barrier, less then 150 mg/L of protein is excreted in the urine for a healthy person. The proteinuria test is used to detect the abnormal filtering of albumin in the glomeruli. The other blood tests can be useful for the detection of kidneys' ability to remove
