The velocity of the fuel at the intake must be high enough to overcome the airstream between the intake value and the throttle body. At speeds more than 300 feet per second, the separation of droplets from the charge will occur. In order to prevent the droplet separation, the intake charge velocity must be around 50 feet per second. Hence, it is necessary to have intake charge velocity of about 50 feet per second to prevent the droplet fallout.
