Concept explainers
To explain:
Whether humans are evolved from chimpanzees or not.
Introduction:
Evolution is a term that can be defined as the changes in the biological or heritable characteristics in a species of a population over several generations.
Explanation of Solution
No, the humans have not evolved from chimpanzees. Humans are the modern species which share a common ancestor with the chimpanzees. Homo sapiens show a close relation with the modern apes like African chimpanzees, and gorilla, but they did not evolve from the apes.
Both of these species that are humans and apes are turned into two lineages and the changes have occurred in both the lineages from generations to generations. One lineage turned into apes and the other is evolved into early humans.
Humans did not show any evolutionary relationship with chimpanzees. So, they did not evolve from the apes like chimpanzees. However, they just share the common ancestral relations with each other.
