Introduction:

Disseminated intravascular coagulation involves blood coagulation throughout the body system by blocking the small blood vessels. This results in multiorgan failure and excessive bleeding from multiple locations, such as rectum or vagina. Disseminated intravascular coagulation is caused by degradation of microthrombi, consumption of platelets, reduction of coagulation factors, and reduction of fibrinogen in the body.
