Introduction:

The food is produced by the leaves in a plant through a process called photosynthesis. The non leafy region of the plant such as stem, branches, and root are incapable of photosynthesis. So it is important to transfer the product of the photosynthesis from the leaves to the other parts of the plant. The transportation of food takes place through phloem tissue and the process is called translocation.
