Ebola virus is an RNA (ribonucleic acid) virus known to cause Ebola hemorrhagic fever or Ebola virus disease. Signs and symptoms of this disease include fever, muscle pain, sore throat, headache, diarrhea, followed by decreased function of kidneys and liver. Internal and external bleeding may also occur, ultimately causing death of the infected individual.
