Concept explainers
To explain:
The role of individual plant organ in the life of a plant.
Introduction:
Plants are multicellular eukaryotic photosynthetic organisms belonging to the kingdom Plantae. All green plants are autotrophic, that is, they are able to prepare their own food through the process of photosynthesis.
Explanation of Solution
The organs of the plant include stem, roots, leaves, and its reproductive structures. All these organs contribute to the life of the plant. Each organ of the plant has a specified function that is required to maintain the life processes of the plant.
Roots perform the function of absorption of water and minerals. Leaves perform the function of photosynthesis and prepare food for the plant. Stem helps in the transportation of water, minerals, and glucose. Thus, all the plant organs contribute to the life of the plant.
All the plant organs are essential and contribute to the life of the plant. Plant organs have a specified function that is required to maintain life processes of the plant.
