Introduction:

An ionic bond is a type of chemical bond formed by the interaction between oppositely charged ions .The ions are atoms that have either gained (anion) or lost (cation) their electrons in their outermost shell. A covalent bond is a chemical bond formed by sharing of electrons between two or more atoms. All ionic bond will show a slight covalent character as they involve the sharing of electrons between two or more atoms either partially or completely to attain stability.
