Introduction: General adaptation syndrome (GAS) is a three-stage process. It describes how the body undergoes certain physiological changes when it is under stress. In 1936, the theory of GAS was developed by a medical doctor and researcher Hans Selye. He described three predictable changes in which the body responds against the stressors.
