Explanation of Solution

Diversity can be split into two levels based on the depth of analysis.

Surface-level diversity: Diversity based on age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, and disability status, etc. This is what can be observed by looking at someone, and this is a broad form of generalized diversification

Deep-level diversity is based on thoughts, values, feelings and intangible aspects of personality. Every individual has a complex personality which makes everyone unique irrespective of their surface level diversity traits. The complications in work place occur due to lack of understanding in deep level diversity traits. Evidence has shown that people are less concerned about surface level diversity of each other if in a deep level they are have matching characteristics.
