Introduction:
Carl Woese along with his colleagues in late 1970s designed two domains that are domain Archaea and domain Bacteria and placed eukaryotes in third domain called Eukarya. Eukaryotes are “single celled to multicellular organisms” that possess membrane bound nucleus. They also contain various organelles and some even through “endosymbiosis” of other single-celled organisms.
