Introduction:

The platelet plug formation and vascular spasm are the mechanisms, by which the body maintains hemostasis, along with the blood clotting. Hemostasis reduces the loss of blood in large amounts and prevents hemorrhages. Among the three mechanisms of hemostasis, the vascular spasm is first one to occur followed by the formation of platelet plug and coagulation.
