Applying Langmuir isotherm, the value of ${\text{V}}_{\text{mon}}$ has to be calculated.

Concept Introduction:

Assumptions of Langmuir isotherm:

• Beyond monolayer coverage adsorption does not proceed.
• In a surface all the sites are equivalent.
• A molecule can be adsorbed only at a vacant site.
• Due to no interactions between adsorbed molecules, the probability of adsorption is independent of the occupation of neighboring sites.
