Summary Introduction
To describe:
The role of the CRP-cAMP complex in positive regulation of the lactose operon in E. coli.
Introduction:
The lac operon is the best illustration of gene regulation, which is observed in E.Coli. The lac operon is operated in two directions, positive and negative regulation. CRP and cAMP play a key role in transcribing the genes of lac operon required for breakdown of lactose. CRP is catabolite regulation protein and, it is controlled by cAMP, which act as a molecular effector. cAMP is utilized for intracellular signal transduction.
