The definitions of hormone and endocrine system
To determine:
The definition of the terms hormone and endocrine system.
Introduction:
The hormones are the chemical structure that are divided into three classes that are eicosanoids, steroids, and amino acids. The endocrine system functions through the network of glands.
Explanation of Solution
The hormones are substances produced in the organism that are carried by the blood and lymph. Hormones are provided by the glands in an organism that target distant organs. The hormone can only act on the cells that have a receptor.
The endocrine system is composed of glands that regulate and produce hormones. The hormones produced from the endocrine system help in the growth and development of the body, reproduction. The endocrine system is responsible for almost organ, cell, and function in the body.
Hormones are the communicator between the organs and tissues for the regulation of behavioral and physiological activities.
