The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a form of test which is used to measure the electrical activity in the brain. The activity is characterized by means of brain waves and is measured by frequency, amplitude, and the polarity of the brain waves. The alpha waves are low-frequency (8-13Hz) waves that are recorded when an individual is in a drowsy state.
