Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Prions are infectious protein particles that do not contain any genetic material. They cause disease called as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies in animals. In humans it is also called as Creutzfeld-Jacob disease. These proteins get accumulated in the brain leading to degeneration of neurons with loss of memory and senility. They also cause uncontrolled muscle contractions.
