Introduction:

Attenuation is a method of transcription regulation which occurs after initiation of transcription. It occurs in many operons which translate genes for amino acid biosynthesis like trp operon. Attenuation results after the formation of secondary hairpin like structure called termination hairpin structure or attenuator structure.
