The autonomic nervous system regulates all the involuntary functions of the body. It consists of two divisions of sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. The sympathetic nervous system controls the body functions when the person is in the time of flight and fight response. The parasympathetic system tends to regulate the body function when the person is in rest and digest.
