Chapter 15, Problem 3SQ
Summary Introduction
Introduction: Reverse transcription is a process in which DNA is synthesized using a single-stranded RNA as a template. This reaction is catalyzed by the enzyme reverse transcriptase, and the DNA so synthesized is called as the complimentary DNA (cDNA). Reverse transcription occurs mainly in retroviruses that have an RNA genome. Reverse transcriptase has been used in many applications in molecular biology.
