There are various sensory and motor neurons present in the white matter of the brain. The ascending tracts of sensory neurons carry the stimulus from the spinal cord to the brain and the descending tracts of the motor neurons transfer the stimulus from the brain to the spinal cord.
The funiculi are composed of white matter in the regions of the spinal cord. It is divided into anterior sulcus and posterior sulcus.
