Concept explainers
To determine:
Definition of the terms spontaneous generation, theory of biogenesis, and endosymbiont theory.
Explanation of Solution
Spontaneous generation:
The theory of life which says all the living organisms just spontaneously appeared as the way they are, from different nonliving matter.
Theory of biogenesis:
This is a theory which says that all the living organism are only produced by living thing through reproduction and cannot be created in other ways.
Endosymbiont theory:
It is a theory that suggests an evolutionary relationship between eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms. In this theory, it is said that cells engulfed certain prokaryotic cells and started living in association with one another as a single entity, which led to the formation of eukaryotic cells.
