Fossils are the remains or traces of the dead organisms. Fossils are mainly found in the rocks and are formed due to bones, shells, hard body parts, or the body structure that cannot decay or decompose easily.

Explanation of Solution

A scientist who studies the fossil remains is known as a palaeontologist. Palaeontologists work is to study the life remains in rocks. By fossil remains, these scientists can detect the environment in which that organism lived and the diet that organism followed. Moreover, palaeontologists can form images of extinct species.
