Introduction:

There are various factors which are essential for the production of the red blood cells like vitamin B₁₂, folic acid, and iron. Vitamin B₁₂ helps in the synthesis of DNA and is absorbed in the small intestine. Iron metal is attached to the porphyrin ring in the hemoglobin molecule. Folic acid is an essential cofactor for the synthesis of the DNA nucleotides in the metabolic pathway.
