Summary Introduction

To discuss:

The purpose of a control group in hypothesis testing

Introduction:

Hypothesis testing is also known as scientific method is used to test the validity of a hypothesis. Hypothesis is a suggested explanation for a natural phenomenon. Hypothesis is made by the observation and experimental data and the hypothesis should be a testable one. Then experiments are designed and carried out to check whether the hypothesis is correct. If the hypothesis is consistent with data, it cannot be rejected and the test should be repeated to prove the hypothesis and if it is not the hypothesis is rejected and a new hypothesis is made and the scientific method continues.
