The myocardial cells are also known as myocardiocytes or cardiomyocytes. They make up the heart muscle. They are involved in the contractile function of the heart which enablespumping of blood in the body. They contain myofibrils, that are dedicated organelles made up of long chains of sarcomeres. Ischemia is a condition of heart in which the blood flow is obstructed to the myocardiu. The obstruction can occur if the coronary artery is partially or completely blocked.
