People give explanations for certain actions or behavior and the reasons why some events occur. These are called attributions. Attributions can be personal or situational. Personal attributions include the explanations regarding people’s behavior and internal characteristics like their traits and abilities. Situational attributions include explanations about external conditions like luck, accidents and weather. Fundamental attribution error occurs while making explanations regarding other people.
