- 1. Read the paragraph below and find where are the time order signals: There can be very few things more important than education. Education is the key to knowledge; it leads us down the path of ultimate enlightenment. Through education, we learn how to read and write. A person who lacks education misses out on a plethora of opportunities. In contrast, a well- educated person will find himself in the middle of a field of possibilities. He will live a life filled with worldly comforts. A person needs to receive an education from his childhood. The brain of a child is in constant development, and it helps in a better understanding of concepts over time. Moreover, a literate person knows his way out of difficult situations; he knows how to turn a bad situation around. One of the paramount aspects of education is that an educated person receives a lot of love and respect from the people around him. People admire and look up to him. Education shapes and forms the base of our character and…arrow_forwardRead the following paragraph. Then rewrite it so that it is consistent with the principles of person-first language. There was a time when disabled kids were not allowed to go to school. They were institutionalized or kept at home. The parents of these disabled students, and of others who were wheelchair bound, mute, and others, began to fight for the rights of their children to receive a free public education. Because of these advocacy efforts, in 1973, the Rehabilitation Act was signed into law. It prohibited any agency receiving federal funding, including most public schools, from discriminating against a disabled child. This paved the way for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which ensures educational services for all handicapped children throughout the nation. These laws have provided disabled students the right to receive an education at their neighborhood school with their peers.arrow_forwardHow should society begin to prepare for inevitability of Artificial Intelligence entering our daily lives?arrow_forward
- A wide variety of everyday objects (including attractions at amusement parks, autos, elevators, and ovens) are really computers or information systems these days. The typical person would not connect them to a computer or database. The benefits are obvious, but are there any downsides to consider? As an example, if you rode a computer-controlled roller coaster, how confident would you be in its safety? As more and more mundane tasks are automated by computers, we have to ask whether the benefits are worth the cons. If so, then explain why.arrow_forwardFive schoolgirls sat for an examination. Their parents – so they thought – showed an undue degree of interest in the result. They therefore agreed that, in writing home about the examination, each girl should make one true statement and one untrue one. The following are the relevant passages from their letters: Betty Kitty was 2nd I was 3rd Ethel I was on top Joan was 2nd Joan I was 3rd Ethel was last Kitty I came out 2nd Mary was only 4th Mary I was 4th Betty was 1stWrite a prolog program to solve this puzzle. A completely working solution is required for extra points, i.e. all or nothing proposition.arrow_forwardChoose a field of study where an expert system could be helpful and give at least five rules for the knowledge base and facts for the working memory.arrow_forward
- What implications does extensive usage of artificial intelligence and robots have for society and morality? Do you think it would be better for robots to replace all human employees in the long run if humans were eliminated from the workforce entirely? If this is the case, then what proof do you have to back up the assertion that you made?arrow_forwardIs there any way to predict the long-term impact of AI and robots on society and the way we do things morally? Could it be that if robots took over all of human jobs, they might really be more useful in the long run? What evidence do you have for that assumption?arrow_forwardIn at least one paragraph, answer the following question: What is Artificial Intelligence? Can computer be programmed to thing for itself? What are some of the applications of Artificial intelligence in the industry?arrow_forward
- In light of the ever-increasing dependence that we place on artificial intelligence, what kind of ethical concerns do you believe may emerge?arrow_forwardThe usage of computers and information systems is now prevalent in many common items such as amusement park rides, automobiles, elevators, and ovens, among other things, that you would not usually connect with computers or information systems. There are certain advantages, but are there any dangers as well? If, for example, you were riding a roller coaster that was computer controlled, would you feel more or less at ease? Alternatively, would you feel secure enough traveling in a Tesla with the auto-drive function turned on? What are the advantages and disadvantages of computerizing a growing number of daily objects? Do the potential benefits outweigh the risks? What is the reason for this or why is it not?arrow_forwardTo what extent do you agree with the following statements on the value of artificial intelligence in the workplace? Discourse with another person about it. Please offer an actual application of the sort of AI you are talking about to back up your claim. Talk about the specific benefits you've seen at work thanks to this use of AI and how successful you think it has been.arrow_forward
