  • The tent map on the interval [0,1] is defined as: xn+1= f(xn), where r > 0

    f(xn)={rx,              0x12r(1-x),     12x1

  • Here, it is assumed that r > 2. Hence, some points are such that: f(x0)>1, which means that the points are escaped. Similarly, if fk(x0) >1 for some finite k, but fn(x0)[0, 1] for all n< k, then we say that x0 has escaped after kiterations.
