1. Write 100 zeros on a piece of paper and time how long it takes you. Based on the time it took you to write 100 zeros, approximately how long would it take you to write 1000 zeros? 10,000 zeros? 100,000 zeros? 1 million zeros? 1 billion zeros? 1 trillion zeros? In each case, give your answer either in minutes, hours, days, or years, depending on which answer is easiest to understand. Explain your answers.
2. Recall that a googol is the number whose decimal representation is a 1 followed by 100 zeros. Based on your answers in part (a), explain why it would not be possible for anyone to write a googol zeros.
3. Recall that a googolplex is the number whose decimal representation is a 1 followed by a googol zeros. Based on your answer in part (b), explain why It would not be possrble for anyone to write a googolpiex m its decrmat representation. (Note. however. that it is possible to write a googolplex in scientific notation. )
