Introduction:
Autoimmune diseases are the diseases in which the immune system of the body acts abnormally against the normally present tissues in the body. The affected part may be a tissue present in different sites of the body or it can be an organ present in the body. The immune system produces antibodies which act against the involved tissue.
These autoimmune diseases are generally chronic and fatal in nature. These diseases are debilitating diseases and cause degeneration in the body.
In case of myasthenia gravis, the nerve impulse is affected because of which the control on the brain reduces. The communication between the muscles and nerve is cut off due to which the muscular contraction is impaired. Most common system of myasthenia gravis is muscular weakness, which can improve with rest. Eye movements, eyelid opening and closing swallowing, facial movements are generally affected.
