Concept introduction:

Penicillin is one of the first antibiotics to be synthesized. Different types of penicillin are acquired by various species of penicillium mold and are used for different kinds of treatment. All penicillin types inhibit the formation and repair of the cell wall in bacteria species, and so they do not harm the human cells as they lack cell wall. Most types of penicillin are not effective against bacteria that produce the enzyme penicillinase, which disrupts the penicillin structure.
