Chapter 10.2, Problem 9A
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The conditions whether (a) autosomal dominant or (b) autosomal recessive, are associated with “Huntington disease”.
Introduction:
Huntington disease is a genetic disorder that results in neurodegeneration of nerve cells mainly basal ganglia in the brain and affects the individual’s functional abilities Autosomal dominant inheritance involves one copy of an allele that is capable for the expression of the trait and the gene is located on autosome, whereas, autosomal recessive traits usually occurred to skip generations and more likely to appear among offsprings of related individuals.
