A respiratory system is a group of an organ that include air passages, lungs, pulmonary vessels and breathing muscles that help in exchange of gases between air and blood. The gaseous exchange also takes place between the blood and billions of body cells. Each organ of the respiratory system helps in air distribution, but alveoli are responsible for actual gaseous exchange.
